Phoenix intentionally draws on elements of various formal approaches in order to supply the industrially manufactured object with the sensual aura of antiquity. For instance the lamps look as if they might have been found in an Egyptian tomb, or are reminiscent of intricate pieces of craftsmanship from the Middle Ages.
